Magic Kingdom and the cruise begins

Day 5

Our bus didn't leave until 11 to head to the cruise ship and Magic Kingdom was open at 8 for the resort guests so the girls headed off to the Magic Kingdom to ride Peter Pan's Flight (missed on Monday) and to ride Space Mountain one more time. After that, it was off to the cruise ship! We had lunch, then found Tom, Irene and Ryan.

(I'm currently in the Orlando Airport trying to catch everyone up. I'll go back later when we get home and fill in more details and update the last few days! We're exhausted, but certainly had the vacation of a lifetime!)

Epcot

Day 4

For July 4th, we headed out to Epcot. This was probably the worst day weather-wise. It rained off and on, the park was crowded, and it was hot and muggy. We were able to see most of what we had planned and had the best meal while at Disney World at the Italian restaurant in the World Showcase. We went back to the resort after a quick dinner and packed and tried to rest before our travel to the cruise ship coming up the next day.

MGM

Day 3

Mike headed off to play golf again while the girls headed off to MGM. We didn't think we'd have much to do at MGM, but it turned out to be one of our better days. We hit the Rockin Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Wars, had some great pastries for breakfast, saw some shows, and then headed back to the resort by 2 to meet Mike and hang out at the pool. We watched the fireworks at Magic Kingdom from the beach at our resort. Another great day!

Animal Kingdom

Day 2

While Mike headed off to play golf at the Magnolia, the girls slept in. We took an easy morning at the pool and then we all headed off to Animal Kingdom when Mike got back. It was another fun day with the highlight being Everest Expedition - Disney's newest roller coaster at The Animal Kingdom.

Disney World and the Polynesian

Day 1

rain 30 °C

We made it to DisneyWorld with no problems. It was a rainy day and just after we arrived, it started pouring and came down in buckets for a couple of hours. We had to run from our "building" at the Polynesian to the main building to eat dinner. It stopped raining while we were eating so we were able to head to The Magic Kingdom. Most people had deserted the park by then. The Magic Kingdom was open until 3 am for people staying at the resort - we made it until 1 am. We hit everything we wanted to see that night except for Peter Pan's flight. We did Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, It's a Small World, Buzz Lightyear, watched the parade, saw the fireworks. Our luggage hadn't made it by the time we left for the park so we had to wear what we left in - unfortunately we didn't have the most comfortable shoes on (plus they were wet from the rain) - so a few blisters were nursed that night, but overall a great day!
